iWoodKiosk

A retrospective on the organic computing concept by Tactus Multimedia Studio

Originally launched as a design project by the Hungarian firm Tactus Multimedia Studio, the iWoodKiosk represented a bold, tactile reimagining of digital interfaces at the height of the personal computing boom.

The project seamlessly merged traditional organic craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Hand-carved from solid lime-wood (linden), the structural sculpture was specifically tailored to house Apple's revolutionary iMac G5—encasing its signature clean lines inside fluid, wooden architecture.

Standing as a monolithic bridge between nature and bytes, it abandoned traditional plastic peripherals in favor of an integrated touchpad seamlessly embedded into the wood grain, creating a unified, sculptural workstation.
